We had a few umbrellas in our walk in cupboard that no matter where we put them, were always in the way. Wherever they were in there, as soon as I moved anything, one or all of them would fall over.
As that was hugely annoying, I made a stand to put them in and keep them by the front door. It’s essentially a 5-sided box made from sanded down pallet boards I rescued. I’m not sure what wood they actually are, probably a mixture but they go together well. I braced each side with thin strips of wood inside, top and bottom and then screwed them together. Again, nothing clever or fancy, just functional and I think, quite stylish. I didn’t coat it with anything as it’s in the dry and stable condition of our hallway and I like the raw wood look. I guess I’m lucky that the style we’ve chosen for our home is a natural textured feel and my creations are then able to be a bit raw. It fits in with the rest of our furnishings and keeps the pesky brollies out of harms way!
