Practical Wood Storage Solution for the Kitchen

Not all wood creations have to look gorgeous. Some are made for practical reasons alone and this is one of them. We wanted somewhere to store our onions and potatoes in our larder cupboard. It wouldn’t be seen, it would just make storing our veg easier.

I found a great plan for one online (thank you mellowpine.com) and used that as a guide for all the measurements. Using more left over larch boards, I set to work.

Within a few hours, I’d made it up and it was in use. The only aspect that was new to me was matching the angled cuts at the front but after some trial and error, it all fitted together well. I didn’t bother cutting the lifting slots as we had no intention of ever moving the box once it was in the cupboard. Cost £0
