DIY Chalk Paint Furniture Revival: Oak Drawers to New Life

We had a couple of large oak wardrobes that each sat on top of a single large blanket drawer. We didn’t need the wardrobes in our new home so I detached the separate drawers from both and re-purposed them for the newly decorated guest bedroom.

After the success with the sideboard using chalk paint (Annie Sloan) I used it again on these. I applied the wax as before, after the two coats and purchased iron grab handles from an Etsy trader to replace the old wooden handle. After buffing the wax and allowing it to cure, they really look like new furniture pieces. I attached the two units on top of each other using Gorilla wood glue and screws to secure them.

A large piece of stylish, functional furniture and costing as follows:-

Total = £54

Annie Sloan Athenian Black Chalk Paint £28

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Clear Wax £14

4 Drawer Handles £12
